Friendly Important Reminders Jan 2026

Hello Chewie’s Family!

We just have a few VERY IMPORTANT reminders for everyone!

1. We understand this time of year can be tricky with weather and illnesses, but please try to give proper notifications for appointment cancellations. It helps aid with staffing and no-shows appointments that we could have filled. The cancellation fees and removing passes will be processed before further services can be provided if it is a constant. We understand that things can happen last minute, and if you did cancel and we forgot to take care of it, please do not worry, let us know, and we will rectify it.  Please bear with us as well with cold/flu season if we have to make changes last minute with staffing.

2. There have been many owners allowing dogs on long lines, flexi leashes, or off-leash around Chewie’s.  Your pets must be leashed at all times, behaved and controlled. Their leash should be short, and they should be walking on your side going in and out of Chewie’s. They should not be allowed to wander or jump up on anyone or another client unless it’s a staff member giving the okay to jump on them to say Hi (if you do allow them to do this). Our staff members should also be making sure that your dogs are not jumping on you when you are picking them up because we do not want you to get knocked over either. If they are in any excitable state of mind, please make sure that you have full control of them and that they are next to you and beware of your surroundings.

3. This goes along with the above, but we have been noticing a lot of clients at pick-up or drop-off on their cell phones, not paying attention to their pets, not using leashes on their dogs to go out after we put them on, or taking them off-leash in the parking lots. This is not safe in any regard for the community, your pup, and yourself.  There is a leash law and control of your dog in Nashua/NH, for everyone’s safety.

4. Even though at pick up and drop offs are a convenient time to ask or schedule things. It’s usually very busy so it’s almost best to always email or text us afterwards so it’s not forgotten about or we can call you back when it’s not at such a busy time.  Plus this provides a fast drop off and pick up and the lobbies will not clutter.  We have always asked clients to stay 4-6ft away from people and other dogs, we really enforced it a lot during covid but there are stickers on the floors to help so people and dogs do not feel crowded. **** We ask specifically at our South location that if you see 3 or more clients in the lobby with or without dogs that you please allow distance and to not stand to closely to one another. Please stand off to the side if space does not allow waiting to pick up or drop off.

5. Winter allergies are in full force as so as upper respiratory cases since most dogs are trying to find places inside to play. Please make sure that if your dog is exhibiting any coughing sneezing vomiting or diarrhea that you keep them out of Chewie’s unless the vet tells you that it is due to allergies or something else so that way we can keep everybody safe and healthy. We will always continue to post like we do when there seems to be an uptick of upper respiratory in the area or if we seem to get a handful of them as of right now they just seem to be sporadic cases we hear of.  They can return when they have been normal for 3-5 days depending on why they were out.

6. As a common courtesy to our clients, neighbors and our staff , please make sure that you are picking up after your pets when they are going to the bathroom outside of Chewie’s and they are not marking the building or other businesses doors.

7. Please keep in mind this winter with the changes of temps that it can been very icy out at night or in the AM, as our landlords and landscapers are doing our best like everyone is with their businesses and homes to make it safe.  This is another reason to always have good control of your dog so they do not slip or yourself.

8. If you need any help at all, controlling your dog on a leash or need help just learning leash walking skills please let us know. We have tons of resources and trainers that we know and tips that we can give you. Sometimes dogs just need refreshers, correct placement of collars/harnesses and reward.

That is all for important housekeeping reminders, unfortunately there are consequences if not following protocols, policies and guidelines that you sign when submitting an application, posted on the website and to use our services for everyone's safety!

We hoping for a fun winter and spring and year! Will be posting some stuff soon on our pages and sites! Stay posted :)

If you have any questions at all please do not hesitate to reach out to us or myself (bonnie@chewiesplayland.com).
